BSV students celebrate the Chinese New Year

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the students of Laude British School of Vila-real who study this language enjoyed this traditional celebration together with part of the Chinese community of Vila-real.

So, on 27th January, our students went to Chinese Restaurant Palacio Real in Vila-real, where they had the opportunity to cook and eat their own dumpling, a typical Chinese meal, under the supervision of Chinese teachers and with the collaboration of the restaurant staff.

They also enjoyed the special New Year´s Eve gala in China screened in the restaurant, putting linguistic knowledge into practice.

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival in China, is the most important traditional celebration of the Chinese calendar. In 2020, the year of the rat is commemorated and it is a celebration that is also commemorated in other countries of East Asia, where every year it is related to an animal of the Chinese Horoscope according to the twelve-year cycle: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

From LAUDE BSV we want to wish our students, parents, colleagues and school community a Happy Lunar New Year 2020!
